There are many different factors that make a puzzle hard but a question I've often asked myself is, which puzzle is actually the hardest? So, in order to rank them I've created this totally subjective, probably wrong top five list of the puzzles I think are hardest. Be sure to let me know what you think!
Enchanted valley scores high in 3 of the four rating areas
and has an overall score of 4.09.

Due to the large amount of area in this puzzle with the same
colors, the segmentation score is high which means there are fewer distinct segments.
This puzzle also has an extremely high color score which means that there are
not many distinct colors in this puzzle. This combined with the segmentation
score make this puzzle exceedingly difficult. For example, determining where a
green piece is supposed to go would be difficult.
Much like enchanted Valley, Neuschwanstein Castle scores
very high in segmentation and color scores.

The combination of high segmentation and color scores may be
the hardest combination in puzzle solving. Again, you may have an idea of where
a piece would go, but drilling down the exact location would be very hard in this
puzzle due to the similarities in large areas of this puzzle.
Well, let’s start with the fact that this is a 3000 piece puzzle
which is going to make it inherently harder.

As you can see above, this puzzle also has a high cluster
and segmentation score which means that the colors in the puzzle are well distributed
and there are not many distinct color clusters to differentiate the areas of
the puzzle. The line and color scores make the puzzle a little easier, which
means that when there are differences in color, they are significant. The line
score also indicates that within the segments there is some opportunity to
locate pieces using the lines/shapes. Take a look at the cheetahs in the
picture. While this area is very similar in color/pattern, you can use the
lines to locate where a piece should go.
What makes Cinque Terre Viewpoint hard?
Well, the water and the sky.

As you can see, there are a couple large segments in the
puzzle that are going to make things overly complicated. The water and sky are
going to take a long time and you will likely have to use nothing but the shape
of the pieces for most of this puzzle. Once you get up into the houses, things
get a little easier, but as you can see from the color score above this is not a
walk in the park either. The houses have similar color/shape and certainly will
not be easy either.
This puzzle has a lack of defined segments and the colors bleed
together.

As seen
in the line score above, this puzzle does have some distinct lines to guide you
through. What this puzzle lacks are defined segments. For example, look at the
sky in this puzzle. While there are some lines and different colors, it all
bleeds together and locating a piece would be difficult in this area. There is
a decent amount of color differentiation to help guide puzzlers though this one
and a decent number of lines. This one is hard, but it is not the hardest!
